Wanda "Jean" Young, 96, of St. Charles, passed away Friday, April 29, 2022. Jean, daughter of Warren and Florence, nee Correll, was born on March 27, 1926, in Kansas City, Missouri. They spent Jean's early years moving on a consistent basis due to her father's career. The family did not settle in one place, until her high school years, which took them to Pacific, Missouri. Jean was a graduate of Pacific High School and St. Luke's School of Nursing in Kansas City, Missouri. On June 15, 1946, she was untied in marriage to Herbert "Carrol" Young in Columbia, Missouri.

Jean was a registered nurse, a member of the Pacific Presbyterian Church, P.E.O. (70+ years), D.A.R., an avid reader and amateur artist. She was a mother of three (Mike, Steve, Kathy), grandmother of three (Jeff, Melissa, Brandon), a great- grandmother of four (Bela, Owen, Kaylin, Coleson), an aunt and a great-aunt. Jean loved her family, made everyone feel special and learned to roll with what life offered. She enjoyed her life in Pacific, living on the farm, moving to Springfield, Missouri, to be with her eldest son, Mike and wife Sandy, and her grandchildren, then finishing out her years in St. Charles, Missouri, near her daughter, Kathy and son-in-law, Don.

Jean is survived by her children, Steve Young, Kathy Hutson and husband, Don; former daughter-in-law, Sandy Copeland; grandchildren, Jeff Young and wife Kim, Melissa Millsap and husband, Adam; and great-grandchildren, Bela Millsap, Owen Millsap, Kaylin Young, and Coleson Young.

Jean had a wonderful 96 years and spent 75+ with the man she loved, Carrol, who passed away in September, 2021. She will be remembered with fondness by those who knew and loved her.

Private graveside service. Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Pacific Presbyterian Church, 410 W. St. Louis Street, Pacific, MO 63069.
