Velma Sue Kirnbauer, 78 , of Catawissa, passed away on April 17, 2021. Mrs. Kirnbauer, daughter of the late Elbert Davidson and his wife Laverne nee Hawkins, was born on May 21, 1942 in St. Louis. On August 5, 1961, she was united in marriage to John Kirnbauer at St. John the Baptist Church in St. Louis. Velma volunteered for many years as a teacher aide in the Meramec Valley R-III School District. She loved bowling, train rides, and most of all, spending time with her family.
Mrs. Kirnbauer was preceded in death by her parents.
Among her survivors are her husband, John Kirnbauer of Catawissa; daughter, Sharon Gibbons and husband Bill of Catawissa; brother, Roy Davidson and wife Melanie of Pensacola, FL; granddaughter, Alesha Gibbons and fiance Johnny Voegele of Catawissa; great-grandchildren, Skylar Gibbons and Izzy, Gavin, and Kynzie Voegele all of Catawissa; In-laws, Aline Kirnbauer of Maryland Heights, Susan Bauschlicher and husband Charles of Desoto, Jean Vuichard of Pacific, and Joan Jackson of Pacific; other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 4-7 P.M. at Nieburg-Vitt, Thiebes Funeral Home, with a funeral service beginning at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Nieburg-Vitt, Thiebes Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Affton. Memorial donations can be made to the charity of choice.
