Sidney M. Morel

Sidney M. Morel, 82 , of Pacific, went to his heavenly home on August 29, 2022. Sidney, son of the late Rena and Raoul Morel, was born on November 16, 1939 in Convent, LA. He received his education from Romeville High School in Convent, Louisiana. On August 6, 1960, he was united in marriage to Barbara Duncan in Pacific.

Mr. Morel served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army at Nike Base in Catawissa, Mo. Sidney enjoyed dancing, watching football, eating cajun food and in his early years he enjoyed racing his 66 Chevelle at Pacific Raceway Park in Catawissa, Mo.  He also umpired baseball & softball for Pacific Khoury League and American Legion for over 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his mother Rena Morel, father Rauol Morel, his wife, Barbara Morel; son, David Morel and brother Ralph Morel.

Among his survivors are his children, Melanie Schuster and husband Chris of Pacific, Renee White and husband Tim of Pacific, and Matt Morel, Cate Freeman of Pacific; sister, Catherine Hogg of Convent, LA; grandchildren, Brittany Ramsey (Rob Brake), Tara (Randy) Cowsert, Cody (Elyse) Schuster, Mallory (Andrew) Reidt, Emily (Jesse) Gullet, Sydney Moore, Timothy White, Ryan Hardt (Megan Caress), and Jodie Morel (Bryan Reid) ; great-grandchildren, Lennon Hardt, Carson Payne, Cayden Payne, Elaina Gullet, Leah Gullet, Levi Gullet, Mason Knott, Callie Thornton, Cadence Ramsey, Jackson Brake, Kinsley Cowsert, Kennedy Schuster, Remington Cowsert, and Laney Schuster; other relatives and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Thiebes Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Nieburg-Vitt, Thiebes Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Sunset Cemetery in Pacific. Memorial donations can be made to the Leukemia Society.
