Ralph J. Gregory, 105, of Marthasville, passed away on September 25, 2015 in
Phoenix, AZ. He was born on September 27, 1909 to the late Roy and Rose
(Englehardt) Gregory in Washington, MO. He was preceded in death by his younger
siblings, Marion Burton, Anna Mae Westing, and Roy Gregory.
On April 17, 1960 he married Adele Caroline (Brehe) Gregory, who preceded him
in death.
In 1960, Ralph was selected as a the first curator of the Mark Twain Birthplace
Memorial Shrine in Florida, Missouri and after retirement from state service he
became the museum curator for the Mark Twain Boyhood Home in Hannibal Missouri.
He was a founder and/or member of numerous historical societies in Franklin,
Warren and Monroe counties in Missouri. Ralph continued his work as a local
historian and author throughout his life, carrying the torch for the preservation and study
of local history and encouraging others to join in his passion.

Ralph is survived by his loving daughter, Nancy Gregory Kimball,
son-in-law Mark Kimball, 2 grandchildren, Gregory Kimball, and Nicholas Kimball
all of Phoenix, AZ and many other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Nieburg-Vitt Funeral Home, Washington, Thursday,
Oct. 15, from 5 to 8 pm.

A memorial service will be Friday, Oct. 16 at 11 A.M. at St. Peters UCC ,
Washington.

Interment, with military honors, will follow at St. Peters Cemetery, Washington.

Memorial donations will be excepted after the establishment of a foundation in his name to support local history preservation and research throughout the area..
