Keith R. Reidt, 59, of Pacific, passed away on June 10, 2023. Keith, son of the late Ray W. Reidt and Jean nee Parrett, was born on November 1, 1963 in St. Louis. He received his education from Pacific High School and Northeast Missouri State University (Truman University) graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. On June 5, 2021 he was united in marriage to Patty Garcia in Pacific.
Keith played high school basketball and baseball, and went on to play baseball for Northeast Missouri State University. He was an NSA World Series Softball winner, a Missouri Department of Corrections Director’s Cup Golf Tournament champion, a hole-in-one golfer, a perfect 300 bowler, and an avid sports fan. His favorite teams included: the Pittsburgh Steelers, Clemson Tigers, St. Louis Blues, New York Islanders, St. Louis Cardinals, and Baltimore Orioles. Keith was a MSHSAA official for many years, known for his fun banter and stressing good sportsmanship while umpiring baseball and softball and refereeing basketball and volleyball for elementary, middle school, and high school levels throughout Franklin and Gasconade counties. Keith worked for the Department of Corrections and Probation and Parole for 30 years and was a retired parole officer. Keith was a Christian and attended The Ridge Church in Villa Ridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Dennis Garcia, and nephew, Quinton Steele.
Among his survivors are his wife, Patty Reidt of Pacific; son, Andrew Reidt and wife Mallory of Pacific; two siblings, Jena Hogan and husband Kurt of Labadie and Janice Pearl of Pacific; step-daughter, Isabella Garrity of Columbus, OH; granddaughter, Addison Reidt; mother-in-law, Sanjuanita Garcia of Gibsonburg, OH; sister-in-law, Maria Martinez (Matthew Goossens) of Chicago, IL; brother-in-law, Steve Garcia of Chicago, IL; two nephews, Jared Hogan and wife Haley and Korey Hogan and wife Kacie; great-niece, Ember and great-nephew, Grayson; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Ridge Church, with the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Keith Reidt Scholarship Fund: Please make checks payable to Patricia Reidt.
