James V. Hogan Obituary




James V. Hogan Jr.,93, of Pacific, passed away on October 1, 2016 in St. Louis. Mr. Hogan, son of the late James Hogan Sr. and his wife Miriam NEE Avery, was born June 8, 1923 in Pacific. He received his education from Pacific High School. On September 18, 1949, he was united in marriage to Emma Saunders in Pacific. James worked for the Hogan Family Dairy Farm, for almost his entire career. He loved gardening, sports, and at one time, coached Khoury League. He was a member of the Pacific United Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge in Pacific. Mr. Hogan served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army Air Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Emma Hogan; two brothers, Donald and Robert Hogan, and by two sisters, Martha Prichard and Marilyn Smith.
Among his survivors are one son, James V. Hogan III and wife Gwen of Columbia, MO; two daughters, MaryAnn Kinder and husband Chris of Eureka and Barb Ebker and husband Ray of Pacific; Two brothers, David Hogan of Villa Ridge and Thomas Hogan and wife Frankie Jo of Washington; sisters, Ruth Hogan of Villa Ridge; six grandchildren, Diane Ebker, Matt Heisel and wife Jennifer, Ben Heisel and wife Lisa, Jeff Heisel and wife Amanda, Greg Hogan and wife Annie and Brett Hogan and wife Tera; great-grandchildren, Ella, Ada, and Mila Heisel, Mya Stegan, Nathan Heisel, Tyler Heisel, and Gibson Hogan; In-Laws, Helen Hogan, Arlene Hogan, Richard Smith, and Clyde Prichard; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the Pacific United Methodist Church, with interment in the Pacific City Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Norah Jones. Memorials were to the Pacific United Methodist Church.
