Hugo Kleekamp,94, of Washington, passed away on April 12, 2018 in Washington. Mr. Kleekamp, son of the late Frank Kleekamp and his wife Elizabeth NEE Sieve, was born May 2, 1923 in Gildehaus, MO. He received his education from St. John's Gildehaus School. On May 22, 1946, he was united in marriage to Edna Trentmann at St. Francis Borgia Church.
Hugo was employed by International Shoe until its closing, then he went to work at Samuels Shoe Mfg. in St. Louis, and after that Binkley's in Warrenton, where he retired from. Hugo continued to farm, until he was no longer able to.
Hugo was a Charter member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Knights of Columbus 1121, and the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of Lourdes.
Mr. Kleekamp was preceded in death by his parents; Wife, Edna Kleekamp; siblings, Alphonse Kleekamp in infancy, Vincent Kleekamp, Anna Hagedorn, Regina Eagan, Luella Overschmidt, Eugene Kleekamp, Eleanor Terschluse, and Angeline Pagan; and by son-in-law, Gene Miller.
Among his survivors are ten children, Marilyn Miller of Blackfoot,Idaho, Bonnie Lou Aholt and husband Lawrence of Washington, Debra Kleekamp of Washington, Norma Lee Voeller and husband David of Tennessee, Alan Kleekamp of Washington, Lori Kleekamp of Indiana, Tim Kleekamp and wife Debbie of Labadie, Betty Henry and husband Randy of St. Peter's, Marcia Nazari and husband Nathan of Washington, and Craig Kleekamp of Washington; Grandchildren,Darrick Miller, Gina Taylor,Tisha Miller and Alex Miller, Kristin Aholt,Tavis Aholt and Lauren Weggemann, Zachary Voeller and Nicholas Voeller,Ty Kleekamp, Jessica Kleekamp, Jared Kleekamp,Chelsea Kleekamp and Caleb Kleekamp, Joseph Henry and Luke Henry, Madeline Nazari, Erika Kleekamp, Samuel Kleekamp Airman E 4 United States Air Force and Oliver Kleekamp; Eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Justin Kleekamp and wife Dorothy of Washington and Elmer Kleekamp and wife Betty of Marthasville; brother-in-law, Wilbert Trentmann of Washington; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, with interment in the St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. James Theby. Memorials were to the Our Lady of Lourdes Grade School.
