Obituary

Edward N. Smith, 88, of Eureka, passed away on April 15, 2023. Mr. Smith, son of the late Edd Smith and Thelma nee Smith, was born on August 12, 1934, in Guntersville, Alabama. He received his education from Snead University. On October 24, 1964, he was united in marriage to Margaret Crider. Mr. Smith served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army.

One of his favorite hobbies was reading. He also enjoyed watching television, especially Hallmark movies. He also had a love for classical music, which he frequently listened to.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Smith; two sons, Jeff and Eddie Smith, and three siblings, Alma “Ruth” Smith, Bobby Smith, and Benny Smith.

Among his survivors are his daughter, Jennifer Crider of Gray Summit; grandson, Jeffrey Allen Smith of Albertsville, Alabama; daughter-in-law, Laura Smith, other relatives and friends.

Services for Edward Smith will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to K-9’s in Crisis.
