David Wayne Wells

November 22, 1927 – January 15, 2019

David was born in Wellsville, Missouri to the late George and Alta Virginia Wells. He spent his early years in Bellflower before moving to Pacific in 1942. Blanche Hess moved to Pacific in 1945, and David saw her across the gym. They met, dated, married, and had four children. He worked for Pacific Sand and Gravel, Shepard Well Drilling, Hoven Electric, and Butler Electric. He was a 50+ year member of the IBEW. David was an extraordinary husband and father; celebrating over 71 years of marriage. He was a Jay-cee, past president and member of the Khoury League, and served on the Meramec Valley R-III School Board.

He is survived by his sisters, Martha Grah and Shirley Bruns; his wife, Blanche Wells (nee Hess); his son, Kenneth Wells (Sheila); three daughters, Linda Wells (Elizabeth Kelly), Martha Coleman (Gordon), and Jodi Suerig (Ronald), and his ‘other daughter,’ Pat Baker; four grandchildren, Kristi Hesemann, David Wells, Rebecca Coleman, and Sarah Brooks; seven great grandchildren, David, Trevor, Will, Lyndsey, Rachel, Daniel, and John; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gene Wells; sister, Helen Hogan; and grandson, Scott Coleman.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2019, from 4 until 8 pm at Nieburg-Vitt, Thiebes Funeral Home, Pacific. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 21, at 10 am at Nieburg-Vitt, Thiebes Funeral Home. Memorial donations are appreciated to Zitzman Elementary, 255 S.
