Chris T. Johnson, 82, of Union, passed away on November 2, 2023 at the New Haven Care Center. Chris, son of the late Thomas C. Johnson and Vivian nee Anderson, was born on May 14, 1941 in Indianapolis, IN. He received his education from Berkley High School in Missouri and later earned his Associates Degree from a community college. On May 21, 1960, he was united in marriage to Claire Craighead. This year they celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary.

Mr. Johnson worked in various fields of cost accounting to Manager positions for P.N. Hirsch Dept. Stores. Later he was certified as a Substance Abuse Counselor, and retiring Emeritus 2016 from the Missouri Credentialing Board.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clifton and Larry Johnson.

Among his survivors are his wife Claire Johnson of Union; children, Lynn Fortune and husband Rich, Tonya Roberts and husband Lennie, and Clif Johnson and wife Cindy; sister, Carol Fennell and husband Dale; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren as well as extended family of grand and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Thiebes Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 6, 2023 at Nieburg-Vitt, Thiebes Funeral Home. Interment will be for immediate family only at the Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Pacific. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Pacific United Methodist Church.
