Adam James “AJ” Shaw Curry

We are extremely pained to announce the passing of Adam James “AJ” Shaw Curry. AJ was born to Ashlyn Shaw and Dominic Curry, May 10, 2023. AJ passed away at 13.5 months old, June 20th, 2024.

AJ was an immensely bright spot in an extremely dark world.  He always brought joy to everyone he encountered.  His piercing blue eyes and beautiful smile radiated outward and brought limitless bliss to those he was near.  

For his parents he was a profound source of drive and determination showing that life could mean so much more than merely existing, but filled with a sense of purpose and unconditional love.

There are not enough words that can be spoken to adequately encapsulate how much AJ is loved.  In his 13.5 months on this earth he touched more lives than many, who have been blessed with more time than he.  He taught us more about love than we previously had known and he brought new perspectives on how life should be lived.  He will NEVER be forgotten.   

AJ is survived by his parents: Ashlyn Shaw of Villa Ridge, MO; and Dominic Curry of Labadie, MO;
Grandparents: Jason Hanneken of Pacific, MO; Robert and Catheren Curry of Labadie, MO;
Great-grandparents: Bob and Lonni Curry of Moweaqua, IL; William and Annette Davis of Gerald, MO; Christine Castelli of Villa Ridge; Clay Gardner of Villa Ridge;
two aunts:  Brialise (Andrew Smith-)Hanneken; Morgan (Brendan) Gentry; two uncles: Brandon (Mackenzie) Long; Aaryn Curry;
five cousins:
Presleigh Hanneken; Theodore Hanneken; Willow Long; Ryleigh Gentry; Carter Gentry;
great-great-grandparents, (great and great-great) aunts and uncles; other cousins; and many, many more that loved him dearly.
AJ was preceded in death by his “Nona” Stephanie Shaw-Hanneken.

Visitation for AJ will be held Friday, June 28, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with the Memorial Service starting at 1:00 PM, at Nieburg-Vitt Thiebes Funeral Home: 231 E. Union St., Pacific, MO 63069.

Immediately following the Memorial Service will be the Committal Service and Meal held at St. Mary’s Church: 1587 Hwy AM, Villa Ridge, MO 63089.
