Francis Neil Brennan

BRENNAN, Francis Neil, 93, passed away on August 12, 2018 in Pacific, Missouri.  Son of Lawrence Pearl and Frances (nee Knobel) Brennan.  Dear cousin of Lloyd Gary (Cynthia) Gross and Harold Larry (Angelynn) Gross; Nancy Gross (Steve) Medlin; Jordan and Brendan Medlin; dear friend of Douglas (Lynn) Kannawarf and David Kannawarf; and friend of many in his home town of Pacific.

Neil was born December 20, 1924 in St. Louis, but he was a lifelong resident of Pacific, MO.  He gave to his community in many ways, beginning with raising and lowering the town flag every day while attending Pacific High School.  He simultaneously served as City Marshal and Chief of the Pacific Volunteer Fire Department in the late 1940’s.  He served as a Missouri Highway Patrol officer for 30 years.  In 1981, he was elected Pacific Ward 1 alderman and was on the Pacific Planning and Zoning Commission.  He later regularly attended Pacific city council meetings as a concerned citizen.  He was one of the founders of the Pacific Historical Society.  For years he also visited the elderly on Sunday afternoons.  His many relatives, friends and acquaintances will always remember Neil best as a friendly and helpful neighbor with a keen sense of humor.

A private graveside service was held at St. Bridget Catholic Cemetery in Pacific.
