Betty Jo (Clyde) Carl

Betty Jo Carl (nee Clyde), 95, of Pacific, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, in Creve Coeur. She was born on February 5, 1923, in Marshall, Missouri to the late Maurice F. and Ogda (nee McGrew) Clyde. She graduated from Central Missouri State University with a degree in Vocational Home Economics and worked many years as a public school teacher. She called Pacific her home since 1945. Betty was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Kappa Omicron Phi Sorority, and Pi Kappa Sigma Sorority. She was a talented seamstress and quilter and an avid bridge player.

Betty is survived by one son, James M. Carl of Pacific, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Noel "Red" Carl, her parents, and one sister, Anna Bell Harrison.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019, from 4:00 pm until time of service at 7:00 pm at Nieburg-Vitt, Thiebes Funeral Home. Interment will be on Monday at Malta Bend Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
